Getting to your first $50,000 a month on Amazon usually comes down to a good product and some hustle. Growing beyond that is different. The quick wins are gone, competitors have noticed you, and small inefficiencies across ads, listings and stock start to cost real money.
These are the strategies that make the biggest difference for established brands, roughly in the order I'd tackle them.
1. Know your numbers per product
Before spending more, know what each product actually makes: price minus product cost, freight, referral fees, FBA fees, storage and ad spend. It's common to find that one or two "best sellers" barely break even once ads are included, while a quieter product is carrying the profit.
2. Raise conversion rate before buying more traffic
A listing that converts at 15% gets twice the return from the same ad spend as one at 7.5%. Images, title, bullets, A+ content and reviews are usually the cheapest growth available. Our listing optimization guide covers where to start.
3. Make advertising efficient, then scale it
Cut wasted spend first: search terms that never convert, duplicate targeting, and campaigns without negative keywords. Then move budget to the keywords and placements that are profitable. Watch TACoS (ad spend divided by total sales) as well as ACoS, so you know whether ads are building organic sales or replacing them. See how to bid for profit.
4. Rank for the keywords that matter
Pick a handful of high-intent keywords from the Search Query Performance report and push for organic rank on each, one at a time. Organic sales don't cost ad spend, so every keyword you rank for improves margin. Our ranking guide explains the plan.
5. Never run out of stock
Stockouts are one of the most expensive mistakes on Amazon. You lose the sales, the rank you've paid for, and often pay low-inventory fees on the way down. A weekly restock plan based on real sales velocity and lead times is non-negotiable at this stage.
6. Expand the range carefully
New variations (sizes, colors, multipacks) and complementary products let you sell more to the customers you already win. They also strengthen your brand on the page: Sponsored Brands ads, Brand Store and A+ comparison charts all work better with a range. Use your own reviews and Search Query Performance data to find what customers are asking for.
7. Use promotions with a purpose
Coupons, Prime Exclusive Discounts and Lightning Deals can lift rank and velocity, but only if they're planned around margin and stock. Time them for launches, peak events and pushes on specific keywords, rather than running discounts all year.
8. Build the brand, not just the listing
Brand Registry unlocks the tools that make customers come back: A+ content, a Brand Store, Sponsored Brands video and Vine. Over time, more shoppers search for your brand by name, which is the cheapest traffic you'll ever get.
9. Grow beyond Amazon
Walmart Marketplace, your own Shopify store and TikTok Shop can all add revenue and reduce your dependence on one platform. Amazon's Multi-Channel Fulfillment can ship those orders from your existing FBA stock. Sending your own marketing traffic to Amazon through Amazon Attribution also earns a credit against referral fees.
Get Amazon running efficiently first, though. A second channel won't fix the margin problems from the first.
Keep a weekly rhythm
Growth at this stage comes from doing the basics well, every week: ads reviewed, listings checked, stock planned, account health watched and numbers reported. The brands that grow steadily are rarely the ones with a clever trick. They're the ones where nothing gets left for a month.
That weekly rhythm is what our full account management service is built around, for brands doing $50k a month and up.
