The Journey Behind Amzamp
Early Ventures
Before diving into the world of e-commerce, I had the privilege of working on some truly extraordinary ventures. One of my most memorable experiences was collaborating with James Cameron in 2011 to build and test the Challenger Deep, a one-man submersible designed to reach the deepest parts of the Mariana Trench. This project fuelled my love for pushing boundaries and achieving the impossible.
From Racing to Retail
Following this adventure, I joined the Renault F1 team, contributing to the aerodynamics department. Here, I tested 60% scale model cars in the wind tunnel, honing my skills in precision, performance, and continuous improvement.
Double-Time
While working shift patterns at Renault F1, I couldn’t shake the desire to chart my own course. This entrepreneurial spirit led me to establish my Amazon business in 2013. Balancing the demands of F1 with building an online business was challenging, but my passion for innovation and success fuelled my journey. This marked the beginning of a new chapter, blending the precision of Formula 1 with the dynamic world of e-commerce.
Building a Seven-Digit Success
Starting from scratch, I co-founded and grew my Amazon business into a seven-figure success over the coming years, eventually leaving Renault F1 in 2017. This journey taught me invaluable lessons about the intricacies of Amazon’s marketplace, from listing optimisation and keyword research to PPC advertising and inventory management. My success wasn’t just about turning a profit; it was about mastering the nuances of the platform and using that knowledge to stay ahead.
